The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
A robot vacuum/mop set-up is the ideal option for pets that shed fur. This machine can vacuum and mop and even clean and dry its own dual mop pads.
It also has the highest suction power of any robot we've examined, with 8,000Pa. It can also save maps of your home and schedule cleaning schedules using its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is wet-dry is fitted with Ecovacs' upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system, which offers improved mapping and obstacles avoidance. The system uses dual laser LiDAR that is similar to that found in self-driving vehicles. It can scan an area up to 32 feet across by 270 degrees. That translates into more precise mapping, faster response times, as well as better cleaning accuracy.
It also comes with a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille. This makes it easier to scrub hard spots than traditional mop. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to wash its pad and get to work. I also noticed that it was much more accurate than the previous models, which seemed to follow a gridded route around rooms. It was able navigate corners and edges of my rooms and also create "Zambani patterns" across the middle of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station regularly to empty the dust bin and clean the mop with hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.
The X2 Omni is as simple to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. Place the dock in its place then plug it in and pair it with your WiFi network at home. It takes just some minutes. Then, you're able to launch the app and begin with your first cleaning project. I was able to customize my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for mopping and sweeping, reworking the placement of furniture on the wall and much more. The X2 Omni was astonished during my tests, with excellent scores for debris removal and pet hair cleaning, as well as near-perfect results for cleaning crevices and edges.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
If you're looking for a strong combination of vacuuming and mopping, check out the EcoVACS Deebot T10 Omni. It is the most advanced model of the brand's T-line and features a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system which uses dual-spinning brushes for more effective cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbers. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a unique natural language processing tech that can respond to a variety of voice commands. You can use the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules, and alter settings.
The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it's not able to switch between mopping and vacuuming in one run. The T10 Omni has two modes that require you to attach and remove mop heads depending on your requirements. This is fine for the majority of households, but not so for those with busy lives.
However, the Deebot T10 Omni is an excellent robot vacuum that has impressive results in our pet hair tests. It was able to remove more than 96% of the debris we threw at it on our hardwood floors, which is an outstanding performance. It was a success on carpets and tiles and removed 99% of dirt.
This robot vacuum and mops comes with an extensive docking system that allows for automatic cleaning with cool water for the mop pads. It also comes with an auto-emptying 3L bag which is easy to replace, and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also has a large reservoir of water that allows it to be washed and dried more often between mopping sessions.
Like other mopping machines such as the Deebot T10, this one comes with a wash tray at its base that rinses and dries the mop pads as it utilizes them. But it doesn't use an open tray, which means that dirty water dust, dirt and other grime slowly builds up in the bottom of the tray over time.
3. RoboVac X8 hybrid
While Anker's Eufy is well known in the robot vacuum space This model is the first foray into the world of mopping. It comes with improved smarts, multiple map support and LIDAR scanning, as well as twin-turbine suction technology that automatically adapts to the surface you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robotic cleaner that's attractive even if its claim of being a one-stop shop for floor cleaning doesn't quite be realized.
The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It is a circular design with the sweeping wheels, as well as an elevated sensor area. Turn it upside down, however there's an electric floor brush and a single side sweeper which pushes dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot's 'mouth'. It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under couches and chairs.
Its mapping system lets you set up no-mop areas and specific cleaning zones. However it tends to bump into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't always adept in negotiating carpets. It was capable of picking up pet hair on bare floors however, and in our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of litter - a figure that is higher than any of the most Powerful Huije Robotic Vacuum Cleaner - 2000Pa robots we've tested.
While it's controllable via the app and the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base that allow you to select the cleaning mode and switch the robot off or on. These buttons can be used to establish no-go areas and view real-time maps. It's a bit chatty, too, and will tell you what it's going to do next ("start cleaning") or alert you that something's wrong (it isn't able to charge, for example).
4. ILIFE A4s
This high-tech vacuum model can remove pet hair, kibble and other messes with remarkable efficiency. It can also move effortlessly around furniture legs. It has a feature set that is impressive, including two cleaning modes and an automatic docking station and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. It's Wi-Fi-connected and best controlled via the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and the overall maintenance needs monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for large homes with hardwood floors and carpet, but it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck by power cords, toys or other obstacles that might be unexpected.
The robot performed well in our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It ate everything from one rice grain to several dog food pieces with only one sweep. It had some issues with rugs but, in general, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms that have both types of flooring as well as a mixture of pets.
It's a bit expensive but if you're able to afford it, it's an excellent buy for those who want to be able to leave their homes free to do other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to tackle tough dirt and spills, and it includes batteries that power the ElectroWall which allows you to set boundaries that the robot isn't allowed to be allowed to enter.
This budget-friendly robot from a renowned brand is the cheapest we've ever tested and offers exceptional value for money. Its basic navigation system uses a super-basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, making it less efficient than the other models on this list. However it's still able navigate under furniture and into corners, and its mopping mode was very effective in our testing it picked up pet hair and other debris effortlessly.
5. Shark iQ
Shark's iQ might not be as well-built however it is superior at cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less thoroughly and does a good job on low-pile carpet and also utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide superior maneuverability. It can be positioned to a specific location, and has a suite of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It also allows you to suspend and restart cleaning sessions which is ideal for homes with pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can carry up to 30 days of dirt. It also comes with a set of angled side brushes that dig deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander and allergens for cleaner air.
This vacuum feels solid and well-built. It has a smartphone app that lets you change the settings for your vacuum and plan cleaning times in advance. The app allows you to view the remaining battery life of the iQ and also receive push notifications about any issues it encounters during a cleaning process. You can control it using your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't own either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary lines.
The iQ does a decent job of removing bare floors and doing a fair job on low-pile and shaggy carpet however, it doesn't have the same level of autonomy as our top picks. It's also expensive and its ongoing costs can add up over time.
